Can I use this for any stabilizer?
No. It is limited to the named product and matching table. Liquid formulations and other concentrations need their own verified model.
Estimate HTH Pool Care Chlorine Stabilizer from its published product table. Use the matching 98.5% CYA package and a target checked against its label, not a generic pool target.

Use a measured water volume and current reading. The calculator does not choose a chemical target.
Stabilizer is cyanuric acid (CYA), not free chlorine or total alkalinity. Enter a current CYA test result and the target appropriate to your product and equipment. The calculator does not choose a target based on pool type or sanitizer. Prior additions and products that also contain stabilizer can matter when interpreting a result.
The manufacturer's Ingredients section lists 98.5% CYA, while other text on its page describes 100% and different target ranges. This tool uses only the product table associated with the Ingredients section, not those competing target claims. If your package differs or its instructions conflict with the table, do not use this estimate; ask the manufacturer to confirm the correct label.
The table uses 1 lb per 10,000 US gallons per 10 ppm increase. The calculator scales that product quantity for increases from 0 to 40 ppm. It does not divide by 98.5% again, and it does not claim the table's rounded figures predict an exact final concentration.
| Volume | Entered CYA increase | Estimated product mass |
|---|---|---|
| 5,000 US gal | 20 ppm | 1 lb |
| 20,000 US gal | 40 ppm | 8 lb |
| Any supported volume | No positive increase | 0 lb |
A zero addition when current CYA exceeds target does not prescribe water removal. This tool does not approve treatment, calculate chlorine demand or determine swimmer re-entry. Keep the product instructions and measured water conditions together when discussing the result with a qualified provider. No mixing or application sequence is provided.
